We are situated in the Hemel-en Aarde (near Hermanus) and more specifically high up in the beautiful Hemel-en Aarde Ridge next to Creation.

Who

Johan and Yolanda Holtzhausen and the Holtzhausen family commenced their journey in 2001 to establish Mount Babylon. They were the first winery to identify the opportunity and to embrace the challenge to plant vines in the Hemel-Aarde Ridge. The Holtzhausen family is passionate and innovative and love wine!

Famed

We are well known for our exquisite red and white varietals and wine made in collaboration with our neighbors Creation. This include Pinot Noir, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc.

Our Pinot Noir and Chardonnay cap classic is a joint venture with Creation and is marketed under the brand Elation. We also have a Shiraz cap classic under the Mount Babylon brand that is unique and exquisite to celebrate success and life.

We offer a unique experience as a family vineyard/cellar/tasting room with a personal touch yet on par with the best wineries in the Hemel-en Aarde valley. Beautiful views of the dam and vineyards with the mountain as a back drop combined with exquisite wines.
