International Pinot Noir Day - 18th August 2021
International Pinot Noir Day is around the corner! In honour of the ‘Prince of Reds’, the wineries of the Hemel-en-Aarde are celebrating with some exciting events. Take a trip to the breathtaking wine region and raise a glass to this sensational red wine. To make things even easier, we have compiled a summary of what each winery has on offer:
Ataraxia
Perched high in the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge Appellation, Ataraxia will be offering a Pinot Noir and Chocolate pairing and giving a 10% discount to guests who purchase wine over the value of R5000.
Guests get to taste their Sauvignon Blanc 2020, Chardonnay 2020, Pinot Noir 2017, Youngblood 2020 and Serenity 2018.
Any guest that buys 6 bottles or more stands a chance to win a magnum of Ataraxia Pinot Noir 2016.

Bosman Hermanus
Found in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley Appellation, Bosman Hermanus are offering a delicious pairing of Mushroom Arrancini and a glass of their Magnum Opus, Pinot Noir, for R100.
Winemaker, Natasha Williams has curated a special wine tasting with snacks to experience and learn more about the wonderful Pinot Noir. There are 12 seats available at R150 per person.
Described as a wine that delivers a gentle opulence on the palate with a combination of dark plums and blueberries on the nose, the Magnus Opus is a wine worth trying and buying. Get it during this week and receive a special discount of 25%.

Bouchard Finlayson
Chris Albrecht, winemaker at Bouchard Finlayson, is celebrating International Pinot Noir Day by hosting a cellar tour and barrel tasting. There will also be a vertical tasting of their flagship Pinot Noir, Galpin Peak.
The wine pays homage to the fynbos-clad slopes of Galpin Peak, which dominates the eastern skyline of the Hemel-en-Aarde valley. Pinot Noir carries the crown of being the most terroir-expressive of all grape varieties and Galpin Peak is no exception. It showcases the unique combination of soil and climate that exists in only a handful of places where the exact balance provides the perfect expression of this elusive grape.

Creation
Found in the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, Creation has created delicious dishes, perfect to pair with Pinot Noir, in celebration of Pinot Noir week.
Creation’s Healthy Heritage Menu, features Waterblommetjie Risotto - a dish that was created to accompany Pinot Noir. Alongside this, Chef Jean-Albert Steyn has crafted another perfect accompaniment: Beef Shortrib, Confit Potato, Roasted Pickled Beetroot, Exotic Mushroom and Summer Truffle. This delectable dish will be available between 18 - 22 August.
